Splitting a group

Unless specifically told to by a teacher, groups must remain together

Variation to a route without notification

When you are on a route without staff, you must negotiate any changes to the route you have decied or have been given.

Being stupid on the radio

Radios are the reason we can do this activity. If you use them irresponsibly, you may not be able to go.

Being stupid with fire

Fires can only be lit

if there is no fire ban

in areas cleared 1m to any grass or tree from fire

for cooking: no flames higher than half a metre are necessary

You must not place items that may explode into a fire, and fires must be completely out (no smoke) before leaving them.

Environmental respect

"Leave only footprints" is a good guideline. Take your rubbish with you. If a site has been left messy by a previous camper: clean it up and take that rubbish out as well.
