You will be practising important skills during this time including an emergency simulation. The Bivouac is used as a shakedown trip for the end of year trek.
As such, it is expected that you will provision yourselves in the same way as would be expected at Activities week. You will need change of clothes, hat, swimming gear, torch, sleeping bag, knife, fork and spoon, plate and cup, water bottle, compass and a watch.
It is important that you have sturdy footwear with good ankle support for both Bivouac and the trek.
You will be given $25 to purchase your own food for the trek, in accordance with recipe ideas given out during the years' training. Ideally, you'll pool this with the other members of your group to get best value. This will mean some planning on your behalf:
