    Pioneers

Welcome to your year in Pioneers, from all staff.

All going well, we'll be wishing you a great week as you depart for Activities Week, where you'll be camping in the Macleay River gorge country for 5 days, with no adults - just you and your mates.

We need to manage your risk so you can take part, so we need to be sure that you know how to look after yourself, prepare meals without having to carry too much stuff, navigate, respond appropriately to emergencies and use correct radio procedure, which you'll learn over the five activities days and practise during Bivouac. You'll also be expected to gain a First Aid Certificate later this year.

We'll provide a tent and pack (you'll be charged for the tent but it's yours to keep) and to have certain items of your own. See the Equipment List for details.

It's most important that you attend all Activities days, and Bivouac, so check the calendar to make sure there are no clashes with anything else.

These dates are also in the TAS calendar: available by clicking here

Remember, we have to manage your risk: if you can't demonstrate that you can minimise risk, then we can't let you go.

A permissions form that your parent will need to sign and return is available here
